I am glad I was able to see this for myself prior to helping someone in my field of work which is Internet Help Desk were people call in for simple things like this. It very difficult if all of those are not deleting at the same time. I just began using this as a possible email and do like it but still access my gmail account at work. I don't quite understand why they would do this. The server whoever that might be would require a user name and password, and unlikely delete emails automatically, unless setup in preferences to delete upon reaching a certain limit, or time frame. That being a Microsoft email account where you mention Outlook. I agree the older versions had the setting to remove from the server after a number of days. My guess would be that you have the phone and desktop or laptop synced with the same email account. So far I have kept Live Mail on my desktop. I download first all the previous mails saved on my desktop where I have no "remove from server" option!!!!! Let's say I keep some of my mails on my desktop PC, I then go travel with my laptop to get the last mails and. I understand Mail App isn't intended to be a very sophisticated mail client, but this option exists in the simplest ones. I personally prefer to empty my delete box manually just in case I want to take one mail back from mistake soon after.Īnyway, I didn't find any "remove or keep on the server" option in the settings. Deleting is not enough, you have to make a sync afterward and you will see the mail disappears from the deleted box as well as removed from the server.
